Introducing Python by Bill Lubanovic

You can buy the book here

I already have .NET and Cold Fusion programming skills so I was pretty curious about Python. It’s widely recognized as one of the most used programming language in modern big-data oriented environment.

The book is very clear but also too basic for people that already have experience in other programming languages.

Some concept must be already in readers’ background so it would be better to dig deeper on other aspects of Python.

Therefore the material is valid. Some chapters should be summarized in less pages and that would have made the book more readable. Some of the examples are too easy and basic to be effective in real world situations but at the end all appear very clear and easy to understand.

Pros: _____ Cons:
  • Accurate
  • Easy to understand
  • Helpful examples
  • Well-written
  • too basic

Best uses:

  • Intermediate
  • Student
  • Novice

I recommend this book for beginners. I’m going to dive deep into Python programming reading other advanced books.
